A Mindful Hike Through The Snow
Just finished up a bowl of chips and thought why not take the dog for a walk to the lake. I quickly ran downstairs to grab my daughter's snow pants, which are two sizes too small. These pants I have on are loud when I walk with my thighs rubbing together and I told the kids I might spontaneously combust from the friction. Mentioned to Jo to every so often look out in the sky towards the lake and if you see smoke come and save me. Not sure if in a previous life I lived in a super cold region, but I tend to put on too many layers and end up sweating my butt off on my way home. I guess it's better than freezing.
Off we go...
Accepting this present moment as it is
Feeling the snow hitting my face
Breathing in the cold
Noticing all the details as I go
Stopping every so often to admire what's caught my eye
No room for mind chatter when you are fully present
This is mindfulness.
