Beginner Yoga Journey Tips


  • Find a teacher who "feels" right for you

  • Don't rush the process

  • Keep showing up, even when you don't feel like it

  • Go to class with an open heart- "intention" is everything

  • Witness, witness, witness- Be the observer of your thoughts and feelings

  • Being consistent with your daily practice is key, even if it's taking five minutes to match breath with movement in cat/dog flow, etc

  • Remember- Control the breath, control the mind

  • When things come to the surface- allow them to be released with love and non-judgment

  • Don't take yourself so seriously

  • What you put into your practice, is what you will get out of it

  • Practice ahimsa (non-harm)- Listen to your body and know your limits

  • It's all about the journey and not the destination

  • The asana (pose) is just the tip of the iceberg- "It's not all about the pose"
